Album Review: Venus II - Inside Your Sun

Aussie duo Venus II drop a psychedelic bomb of retro, early-'90s dance music.

Faux Mancunian indie baggy getting funky on rave cartoons. It kind of brings to mind the time when Andy Weatherall remixed Primal Scream and threw a massive party across much of Screamadelica. There's even just a little ragga thrown in, in case you felt nostalgic for it. Despite wearing their influences on their sleeves this album delivers driving beats and sugar-coated hooks that are instantly likeable. Venus II delivers a cosmic indie-dance sound that flies in the face of fashion, delivering new thrills.
