"An incredible, energetic and insane show."

More Twenty One Pilots More Twenty One Pilots

As the sun set over the Perth skyline, Twenty One Pilots' army of fans swarmed upon Perth Arena with bright-red beanies, red eye makeup and blackened hands.

Safia graced the stage to an already half-full arena and launched into My Love Is Gone and Over You. Their electro beats and hooks warmed up the eager crowd before things slowed down with Listen To Soul, Listen To Blues, during which the crowd's iPhones lit up the arena.

The anticipation grew until a clown appeared on the black curtain masking the stage, launching Twenty One Pilots straight into Heavydirtysoul as the curtain dropped revealing Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun in matching red suit jackets and black balaclavas. The moshpit was full to the brim, with a sea of heads moving as Joseph jumped from hanging microphone to tambourine to piano during Migraine and Hometown. He then disappeared under a black sheet only to appear, mere seconds later, on the other side of the arena.

And the theatrics didn't stop there. After a quick costume change, Joseph rocked a floral kimono and white-framed sunglasses. With ukulele in hand, Joseph sang House Of GoldWe Don't Believe What's On TV and a touching cover of Elvis Presley's Can't Help Falling In Love. Lane Boy saw gas-masked individuals spray the crowd with smoke to provide cover for the band as they relocated to a second stage at the back of the arena, from where they smashed out Ode To Sleep, Addict With A Pen and My Chemical Romance's Cancer. Dun played Ride while being held up on a platform by the audience, within the crowd. Then Dun, encased in a massive red ball, ran over the top of the crowd during Guns For Hands.

The encore consisted of Goner and Trees, before Joseph and Dun climbed onto two platforms that were held up by the crowd. As they started drumming away, red confetti and squeals of joy filled the air, finishing off an incredible, energetic and insane show that no one will forget in a hurry. Twenty One Pilots are true entertainers, exceeding expectations not only with their unique sound but also theatrics.
