"Fresh, sonically intriguing stuff."
Trade Wind ain't no side project.
Trade Wind comprises members of hardcore aficionados Stick To Your Guns, Stray From The Path and Structures, so it's easy to let the mind create its own expectations for how debut You Make Everything Disappear might sound. Ditch those preconceived ideas immediately and be surprised and awed at this album crammed full of rough, angular guitars, raw vocals and lyrical light and shade. Producer Will Putney (The Amity Affliction, Northlane) guides the four-piece through clangy rock in I Hope I Don't Wake Up, gentle percussive ambience in Grey Light, despairing alternative chugs in Rare, and even some electro-tinged Gotye/James Blake-esque atmospherics on Lowest Form. Fresh, sonically intriguing stuff.
