Laden with dated rock’n’roll clichés.
Tongue-in-cheek attitude aside, this Brisbane outfit’s riffy new EP isn’t musically interesting since it’s laden with dated rock’n’roll clichés. Though obviously self-aware, this does little to alleviate the grating effect of shredded solos, tired quiet-to-loud dynamic shifts and cringe-worthy “and then the boys say”/“and then the girls say” segments. Antsy opener Rock N Roll has an upbeat, roughhousing pub flavour, which, like the majority of tracks, fails to bring anything new to the genre. The janglier Do It All Again offers a point of difference to this otherwise basic release, however.
