"... Strange from start to finish."

More The Stranger More The Stranger

Brisbane progressive rock/metal band The Stranger's self-titled album is strange from start to finish, from short, pointless interlude tracks like Patterns and Storm that fill the void, to lengthy tracks that go on forever.

The mix of genres itself is peculiar with the progressive rock/metal riffs of Divine Intervention sitting next to indie-folk vibes with soft acoustic sounds in Masquerade and Song For Dad. Underneath all the confusion and weirdness, The Whip and Solomon's Son are the bright, shining saviours for this album with their impressively heavy fast-paced guitar roars and Tom Frayne's clean calming vocals mixed with a few growls from Kalen Austin.
