Album Review: Serena Ryder -- Harmony

Released in Canada way back in 2012, Serena Ryder’s sixth studio album, Harmony, has finally found a local release here in Australia – and it’s been worth the wait.

The Torontonian isn’t a multiple Juno Award winner for nothing and if ever you wanted proof, here it is. Ryder’s more than a simple guitar-wielding singer-songwriter; one of the greatest pleasures found within Harmony is the scope and delivery of each song’s arrangements. And what makes it even more impressive is that her voice adapts to each genre of song, from Amy Winehouse-esque soul to darker, brooding pop.
