Album Review: Sarah Humphreys - New Moon

StarStarStarHalf Star

Humphreys has penned an optimistic, heartwarming and mature set of songs.

On her third album Humphreys continues to explore confessional folk music, this time with a dash of country thrown into the mix.

Kasey Chambers produced New Moon and though there are elements of twang on songs such as Read My Heart, Humphreys is more a fellow folk sister to Caitlin Harnett and Melody Pool. Primarily these songs document affairs of the heart, the overall feel the endearing afterglow of newfound love – with an ode to a streetlight thrown in. With a vocal sweetness that never cloys, Humphreys has penned an optimistic, heartwarming and mature set of songs.
