Album Review: Santa Cruz - Santa Cruz

While the sleaze metal revival never really took off beyond Europe, occasionally acts manage to get attention in Australia.

Santa Cruz aren't your typical glam-revival band, bringing in deathcore breakdowns and a few dubstep flourishes. While this might sound like the recipe for another Falling In Reverse record, the Bad-era Michael Jackson raps and riffs elevate these Finnish boys above the crowd. The band's excess may be their downfall, as gratuitous vocal harmonies begin to wear thin as the album goes on. The lyricist seems to have an over-fascination with four letter words as well, which does cheapen it all.
