"Poly rhythms and multi-instrumentalism all over."
El Bien Y Mal Nos Une is layered, interesting and eclectic, with songs that are unpredictable and intriguing.
There is an electronic influence that drives the creativity of the record, which may well have come from Deantoni Parks, who drums on the album. From the reverb-doused opener Violencia Cotidiana, to the twinkly electronic warbling on Acuerdate or the effortless funkiness of A-side closer Perdido there are polyrhythms and multi-instrumentalism all over. The penultimate track Planetas Sin Sol takes both Rodriguez-Lopez' and Parks' playing to the absolute frenzied extreme.
