Neil Sinclair takes a light-hearted look at lies in his show Phoney educating his audience on the topic through the use of many facts – some true some false. Sinclair exudes a Mark Watson-esque enthusiasm in his more structured components. Sinclair's dorky charm encourages you to participate in the 'Q' test allowing you to answer the ultimate question – am I a good liar? Where Sinclair falls down is his heavy reliance on props, voiceovers, lighting and skits, which does not compliment the stand-up side of the show. Sinclair at times loses his concentration and place in the show and leaves the impression chunks of the show have been left out. It begins to feel more like a year ten drama class than a professional comedic performance. If you are looking for gentle comedy Sinclair is for you, just remember where he falls down he makes up with charm and enthusiasm.
