Deep wobbling bass coupled with a soft dreamy palette of synthetic sound drift through intimate introspection. Apparat's vocals walk the line between despair and hope without invoking melodrama and sentimentality. This album sees the three-piece successfully combining the thump of Modeselektor's techno cartoons and Apparat's electronic mood pieces into coherent forward-thinking electronic pop. Their approach is consistently experimental but they achieve accessibility, crafting sleek arrangements for these contemplative songs.
