"Despite being more confidence than content, Epps is undoubtedly entertaining."
Mike Epps arrived on stage at the Regal Theatre gyrating and thrusting to Pharrell's Happy. Perhaps most recognisable from the Hangover franchise, 'Black Doug' was crude, blatant but golden in his delivery of his take on quintessential American humour – the polar opposite of opening act Vietnamese-Australian Tien Tran whose understated act carried on the PICF theme of socio-political commentary on the state of affairs in Australia. A casual rendezvous with the audience removed any doubt that Epps was simply reciting a stream of rehearsed gags by improvising banter with the vocal audience. Despite being more confidence than content, Epps is undoubtedly entertaining.
