Menacing bass and smacking percussion in grinding, instrumental opener Walls And Walls precedes an odd but effective concoction of minimalist techno-punk. This local duo approach their multi-genre style of music-making with attitude – teeth gritted and emotions in check. With segments of shadowy, augmented vocals, Shake It swaggers down the fast-rapping, ominous, hip hop path. Meanwhile, That Ain't Real Love radiates a soulful flair thanks to Ehsan Gelsi's crooning, sassy vocals. Though the chorus in Silence does venture a tad too far into 'edgy' Pink territory, this tactile EP proves genuinely biting.
