The man riding the crest of the hipster r'n'b wave THE WEEKND aka Abel Tesfaye has just released a new track titled 'Gifted' which sees him team up with heavyweight rapper FRENCH MONTANA. From the look of this YouTube upload it seems as though an official video is on it's way however for now we'll just have to make do with the straight audio.

Tesfaye recently announced that he would follow up his mammoth three-part debut record 'Trilogy' with a new LP called 'Kissland', as yet however no release date has been hinted at. Apparently this is the first taste we're getting of the album however in true enigmatic WEEKND style very little information is included in the video or description.

The production leans heavily on echoing, reverb drenched guitar twangs amongst sparse 80s style drum hits and rolls. Lyrically it contains similar stuff to what we've heard previously from the performer, he's loveably self-obsessed and well beyond being unafraid to admit it.
