Live Review: LISTEN: The Strokes 'Barely Legal' (Azealia Banks Cover)

Azealia Banks has poured her 'tude into her bran new cover of The Strokes' 'Barely Legal'.

Azealia-Banks

After Real Estate gave us their charming, slowed down take on THE STROKES' 'Barely Legal', AZEALIA BANKS thought it was time she followed suit; just minus the charming, slowed down element.

Produced by Lindbergh Palace, Azealia Banks has covered the track sounding so far away from the original, you'd never actually think it was ever a Strokes song.

With the fanatical beats and synths holding the track together, Banks maintains the same vocal styling as Casablancas does in the original. Having said that though, her attitude definitely shines through both her voice and the production in this cover.

Contrasting this rendition to the original, it's clear that Azealia Banks has opened the track's eyes to a completely new world and will most probably provide it with a completely new audience based on its new sound.
