Perth-based quartet SHY PANTHER scored an opening slot at 2012’s Groovin the Moo festival, and more recently, Parklife. Bringing a dark and brooding twist to pop, their latest single ‘Erving’ enjoyed a sell-out launch party and deservedly so.
There’s an inherent sexiness that can only be present in certain breeds of jazz and ‘Erving’ does and amazing job of capturing it, putting it through a blender along with hip-hop and rock and then baking the mixture into a delicious cake for your ears to devour. If Chet Faker and Pond had babies, it’d be the talented kids of SHY PANTHER.
