Brisbane producer and potential real-life sprite NEO FLUX has released her debut track, ‘Blonde’.
Shadows of mystery have been intentionally cast by Casper Rose, who has shed very little light on herself or the details of the project. On the plus side, it does offer a the opportunity for her music to be interpreted at face value, with no other real influences, barring some funky (and equally mysterious) artwork.
NEO FLUX's unique electro-pop sound could be loosely described as Crystal Castles eclipsing Grimes in a distinguishing fusion of dark, industrial production and a heavily processed celestial voice.
Opening with filter-confined vocals, we are met with an inauguration of sweeping, soft synths that are peppered with crisp, synthetic percussive shimmers. A valiant bass line leads ‘Blonde’ into a bolder territory, yielding more defined beats and melodic motifs, further layered with eerie, evasive instrument textures.

This track oozes unfaltering enigmas and is lit with twilight hues, resulting in a phantom, other-dimensional soundscape.
Casper Rose has successfully harnessed her self described style of “making tracks that are dark and sweet like a sour sucker,” which also provides an equivocal summary of her style and production.
This lass is still very fresh on the scene and on our radars, so be sure to keep an eye (and an ear) out for NEO FLUX in the upcoming times.
