D.D DUMBO has taken us back into his world of alternate groove with his single, 'Walrus' to showcase off of his upcoming LP, Utopia Defeated.
Springing into our lives back in 2013 with his debut EP, Tropical Oceans, D.D Dumbo has since been travelling around the likes of the US, Europe and Australia for various events and festivals. Supporting the likes of Daughter and Tame Impala back in 2014, to his own set at Splendour In The Grass and his very own debut tour of the US, D.D Dumbo has been perfecting his skills - and judging by the sounds of this, he's done a great job in doing so!
Whilst our anticipation levels begin to rise ahead of Utopia Defeated's release, for now, we've been graced with a very articulate and intricately placed track, 'Walrus'. Written and performed by Hugh Perry, soulful vocals cut in and out amongst syncopated melodies and twangy guitar riffs. Loop after loop, 'Walrus' evolves and blooms into a totally groovy ear worm. The piece has a killer rhythm to it, with a touch of 70's nostalgia. Have a little listen right over here!
