"As triumphant a return as triumphant returns get."
After a 35-year hiatus from touring, Kate Bush's 2014 London shows were as triumphant a return as triumphant returns get.
For the most part Bush wilfully ignored the hits, instead exploring high concept terrain with a vast ensemble cast featuring dancers, puppets, 3D animation etc. This triple album doesn't capture the visual aspects, but it does the breadth of Bush's unique vision. Her exquisite vocal talents are at their flightiest on the likes of An Architect's Dream whilst Ariel is as heart-accelerating a climax as you can dream of.
