WEALTH is a multi-dimensional music project from long time friends and collaborators -Surahn Sidhu and Omar Varts. This week we welcome them to our FBi Click show for a glowing Guest Mix.
For the past two years the duo have been quietly developing a concept that sets out to challenge conventional approaches to music creation and production – blurring lines between music, fashion and art.
You should already know Sidhu, having toured as a vocalist for Flight Facilities, guitarist for Empire Of The Sun and released records as Sidwho via Future Classic. Whilst Varts has recently returned to Sydney after residing in New York where he’s paved paths in a fashion/lifestyle direction and together with over a decade’s experience behind the decks.
Together as WEALTH, these guys are creating a dance-floor approach to pop, offering up a palette of disco du jour. And their mix for the show is no different. With plenty of French-touch-inspired disco and pop sounds from legends like Motor City Drum Ensemble, Julio Bashmore, Todd Terje, Primal Scream alongside a new WEALTH track as well.
