Becky Lucas’ Baby straddles the delicate and fine line between expert timing and laid-back atmosphere.

Lucas is keenly observant of the world around her and taps into universally shared experiences with textbook delivery and just a modicum of self-deprecation. Baby does feel oddly disjointed at times and Lucas occasionally seems almost unfamiliar with her own punchlines, as some jokes trail off and disrupt the pace of her performance.

However, Lucas herself is affable throughout and personable in her recollections of both light-hearted and serious topics including backpacks, abortions, and the elusive phenomena of the “dad nod”.
