Album Review: Barenaked Ladies - Silverball

If your knowledge of Canadian band Barenaked Ladies is confined to their 1998 song One Week or The Big Bang Theory theme, let me tell you they’re no one-trick pony.

Over 27 years pockets of irreverent humour have always been one of their hallmarks (see Piece Of Cake here), but their ability to craft three-to-four-minute pop songs has stood the test of time. Silverball, their 14th record, is not their finest, but it’s created with an obvious freedom in which the four-piece revel. Light-hearted, instantly accessible and sweet, it’s perfect for lovers, for friends and for family.
