It’s not life-changing music by any means, but this is a lush, pleasant and occasionally gorgeous debut.

It’s suitably quaint and emotive, but at times pretty lacklustre and derivative.

If the title doesn’t make you cringe, Kids Again is a fun listen.

Stunning stuff, and more proof that Perth are groundbreaking.

Less centred on the dirty blues progressions they started off with, Gold Fever deviates off into various stylistic territories, all of which will no doubt be tremendously received.

His experimentation can be testing, but that’s far more subtle here.

While the album is very one-paced, it’s clear that as a debut record Voss Romme wanted to ensure she found her base before getting too experimental.

Sometimes in a highway servo café (Country Roads, Unwinding) or, as in The Old Docklands Wheel, perhaps a ‘60s coffee house beat poet overheard down the hall.

The dreamy soundscapes may not exactly be on trend but Eno and Hyde deliver a timeless sound that rewards with each listen.

On the whole though, the album is more intriguing oddity than pop masterpiece.
