Adrian Edmondson & The Bad Shepherds

This may not have been a comedy show that offered lots of laughs, it was certainly very entertaining.

Adrian Edmondson announces fairly early on during his gig at The Factory that he isn't going to be playing Vyvyan from The Young Ones or Eddie from Bottom on this occasion. Instead Edmondson is in Sydney with band mates in the Bad Shepherds, Troy Donockley and Andy Dinan. The band plays traditional sounding folk on instruments such as mandolin, fiddle and the hauntingly beautiful Irish Uillean pipes. The twist is in their song choices; classic 70's punk songs by The Clash, Sex Pistols, The Jam, The Specials, etc. Though it could come off as novelty, the trio's chops and well-thought out arrangements give a fresh insight into songs that have been such a big part of the pop cultural landscape. This may not have been a comedy show that offered lots of laughs, it was certainly very entertaining.
