Kylie Minogue has officially been honoured with a Barbie doll, receiving her own figure representing her already-iconic Padam Padam look as part of International Women’s Day (8 March 2024).
Kylie isn’t the only one with her own Barbie—there’s Shania Twain, actresses Helen Mirren and Viola Davis, and more.
Expressing her shock at having her very own Barbie, Kylie wrote on Instagram alongside photos of herself and Padam Barbie, “Look at Padam Barbie!!!! 🥹❤️ Baby Kylie would NOT believe this is happening right now …. Thank you Barbie, Barbie Style [and] Mattel”.

The new Barbies have been chosen because they’re deemed “global storytellers.” The toymaker Mattel mentions that Kylie has received hers thanks to her “glittering career”, which has “kept her firmly rooted in the present whilst defining and celebrating much of our collective past,” per a statement on the Mattel website.
Krista Berger, the Senior Vice President of Barbie and Global Head of Dolls, added, “Barbie’s story has never been just about her. It’s about the countless young kids she’s inspired and the millions of stories she helped them imagine along the way.”

Barbie will celebrate her 65th anniversary on Saturday, 9 March.
Berger continued to note that as Barbie has a global platform that aims to “empower girls to dream big, explore their limitless potential, and direct their own narrative to shape their future”, the 65th anniversary will commemorate 65 years of storytelling through its vessel – a Barbie doll – which has “continues to give everyone the opportunity to dream – and dream big.”
