“It’s such an incredible honour to see my song lyrics brought to life by some of my all-time favourite cartoonists and illustrators,”
'Weird Al' Yankovic has combined with Z2 Comics to create a new graphic novel titled The Illustrated Al: The Songs Of Weird Al Yankovic.
The comic book company has also taken care of forthcoming projects from Tori Amos and Broken Social Scene.
The comic book features over 20 'Weird Al' tracks interpreted by a range of graphic artists including Aaron Augenblick, Peter Bagge, Steve Chanks, Bill Plympton and more.
The foreword will be written by comedian and frequent longtime collaborator Emo Phillips.
“It’s such an incredible honour to see my song lyrics brought to life by some of my all-time favourite cartoonists and illustrators,” said Yankovic in a press release.
“I’ve actually been playing the long game — the only reason I spent four decades in the music business is so that one day I could have my very own graphic novel.”

Recently, audiences got the first proper look at Daniel Radcliffe as 'Weird Al' Yankovic in the highly anticipated biopic about the music legend via a trailer which was released at the start of May.
Written by Yankovic and Eric Appel, the film follows the career of the five-time Grammy-winning artist from his early hits such as Eat It and Like A Surgeon to his “depraved lifestyle and celebrity love affairs” and will premiere exclusively on streaming service Roku later this year.
At the start of the year, Yankovic stated: "When my last movie UHF came out in 1989, I made a solemn vow to my fans that I would release a major motion picture every 33 years, like clockwork.
"And I am absolutely thrilled that Daniel Radcliffe will be portraying me in the film. I have no doubt whatsoever that this is the role future generations will remember him for.”
