WATCH: The First Look At Courtney Barnett's 'MTV Unplugged' Featuring An Appearance From Paul Kelly

The episode airs this Sunday.

More Courtney Barnett Courtney Barnett

The first look at Courtney Barnett's MTV Unplugged Melbourne session is here, with the much-loved artist joined by legendary singer-songwriter Paul Kelly

The pair perform a cover of Archie Roach's Charcoal Lane from his 1990 debut album of the same name, which Kelly served as a producer on.

This isn't the first time Barnett and Kelly have performed the classic track together though, having recorded a version for the 25th anniversary re-release of Charcoal Lane back in 2015.

The program, which was recorded at Howler in Brunswick last month, is set to air this Sunday 17 November at 6.30pm on MTV on Foxtel, Fetch and MTV.com.au.

"I love playing to Melbourne crowds..." said Barnett.

"I wanted to have a mixture of old songs, new songs and covers, and tracks that we don’t perform all the time – it’s been interesting to see the songs through a different filter, and it brings out this other emotional side to the music and the lyrics”.

"Unplugged is so nostalgic for me. We had two Unplugged Records in our CD collection growing up and I know those records inside out because we listened to them every day."
