"There's shmoozing, boozing and (hopefully) dreams coming true."
The hilarious ladies from All Our Exes Live In Texas were in Austin, Texas last month for SXSW and between live showcases, the four found time to go cowboy boot shopping, have midday margies and learn a wee song about a snake farm, which the band have immortalised in a cheeky little rockumentary (or possibly a "compilation of nonsense" according to them) exclusively for theMusic.com.au.
Filmed and edited by the band themselves (which is why the filming flicks into NOSE CAM mode sometimes), the quartet say, "SXSW is a wild, untameable beast! Two thousand bands from around the world, hundreds of thousands of punters and every industry head honcho in the biz. There's shmoozing, boozing and (hopefully) dreams coming true.
"Mega celebs swan in to see how little notice they can give to pull a crowd, while emerging bands busk, flyer and pray for an audience to justify flying across the globe. I think it is possibly the only place in the world where each night for a week you're quite literally crunching CDs under your feet while you walk down the main street.
"We didn't know what to expect. What we did know is at the very least, we had to make an amateur iMovie rockumentary about it. Hope you enjoy."
