Swedish black metal extremists Watain have entered Necromorbus studio in Sweden to commence recording their fifth studio album.

Swedish black metal extremists Watain have entered Necromorbus studio in Sweden to commence recording their fifth studio album.


The new album is the follow-up to 2010’s Lawless Darkness and set for release this August.

In typically cryptic and theatrical black metal style, Watain offered the following update on proceedings:


"Since the harvest, Watain have been occupied with preparations for a long and hard journey. Seeds have been sown, blades have been sharpened and new fires have been lit to illuminate the untrodden tunnels that lay before us as we descend further down the maze..."


Watain toured the country last year as part of the Soundwave festival.
