We're all pretty much across NSW Premier Mike Baird's stance against Sydney's controversial lockout laws — he likes them and he wants them to stay — but, miraculously, it appears #CasinoMike may actually be coming around to the idea that the legislation does need to be amended.
Hey, that's a start, right?
Just weeks after Deputy Premier Troy Grant supported changes to the laws, including calls to end the 10pm closure of liquor stores, Baird now says he is open to all recommendations for changes when former judge Ian Callinan hands in his review of the lockouts at the end of this month.
As The Daily Telegraph reports, Baird supported Grant's comments.
"Clearly I’ve heard a lot of views in relation to lockout laws," Baird said.
"We’ve asked someone to look at all the evidence and to engage with all stakeholders.
"I’m very open to all the recommendations he brings forward."
It is believed that the stakeholders who have been in conversation with the government include anti-lockouts activist group Keep Sydney Open, police, medical authorities and others directly involved with the legislation.
