Plus Aussies rise in US charts

More Vance Joy More Vance Joy

Vance Joy's entrance into the UK spotlight continues this week as his track Riptide enters the top 20 of the official singles charts.

After jumping 50 places last week, the Melbourne singer-songwriter has risen another 11 this week to sit at 18. As of this morning the track is also 13 in the iTunes singles chart in the UK.

The top selling local song in Australia last year, Vance is signed to Atlantic Records outside of Australia and New Zealand and has been enjoying high rotation on the UK's Radio 1.

Thanks to ad syncs running during Channel 7's current coverage of the Australian Open, Riptide is up to 37 on the Australian iTunes chart. Signed to Liberation locally, he is managed by UNFD's Jaddan Comerford.

Across the ditch, there are a couple of Australians doing well in the American charts – particularly in the dance and club arenas. In the Dance Club Songs chart – a regular stomping ground for Australian artists – Darwin's Vassy is up to five with Mad, its highest point in its ten weeks in the chart.

She's joined in the top five by Betty Who, the Sydney-born dance artist whose Somebody Loves You sits at 25 after four weeks.
