“Rest amongst the stars.”
US hip hop artist Nipsey Hussle, aka Ermias Ashgedom, has been confirmed dead following a shooting in Los Angeles on Sunday.
As NBC News reports, the incident took place outside of a store owned by Hussle in South LA, Marathon Clothing, with two other men shot by a suspect who police are currently searching for.
It is reported that Hussle was shot multiple times before being rushed to hospital where he pronounced dead.
After releasing a number of mixtapes since 2010, Hussle’s debut record, Victory Lap, dropped last year which was nominated for Best Rap Album at this year's Grammy Awards.
Artists such as Rihanna and Pharrell Williams have since posted tributes via social media.
