The votes have been counted: the Hottest 100 of 2025 has been confirmed, and we’ll be hearing the nation’s favourite songs of last year tomorrow (24 January).

Ahead of the big day, triple j is celebrating Hottest 100 Eve by sharing little teasers of what to expect tomorrow:

Listeners will hear 26 acts making their Hottest 100 debut, while the 2025 countdown will deliver the most back-to-back entries ever. We only wish we could guess who the artists could be.

Meanwhile, triple j has revealed that a big Hottest 100 record is set to fall, and supporters have already raised $176,000 for We Are Mobilise.

triple j has teamed up with the charity once again this year, which helps address homelessness in Australia. With that huge amount of money raised, supporters have ensured that those doing it tough will have 3,911 nights of housing covered.

You can find out more about We Are Mobilise here.

The Hottest 100 of 2025 will begin at 12 pm AEDT. Then, triple j and Double J have even more excitement in store for listeners.

On Sunday (25 January), Double J will travel back in time and air the Hottest 100 of 2005, and next Tuesday to Friday, triple j will reveal the songs that didn’t make it to the Hottest 100 by playing the Hottest 200. The complete Hottest 200 will air on Saturday, 31 January.

You can tune in to the Hottest 100 via the radio, streaming online, or the triple j app, with more video and image content shared on YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok. The key dates and timings for the Hottest 100 are:

  • Saturday 24 January 2026, 12 pm AEDT: triple j's Hottest 100 of 2025

  • Sunday 25 January 2026, 12 pm Local Time: Double J relives the Hottest 100 of 2005

  • Tuesday 27 January - Friday 30 January from 8 am to 4 pm: triple j’s Hottest 200 of 2025

  • Saturday 31 January 10 am Local Time: triple j’s Hottest 200 of 2025 in full

While there was a massive amount of stellar music released in 2025 (the J Awards recently honoured the likes of Ninajirachi, Folk Bitch Trio, Amyl and The Sniffers, and SPEED), 2025 was a hive of movement when it came to Hottest 100 activity.

Last January, the 32nd annual countdown saw Chappell Roan top the poll with Good Luck, Babe! after 2.4 million votes were counted.

In July, triple j aired the inaugural Hottest 100 of Australian Songs, which allowed voters to create a new definitive Australian songbook. The countdown was taken out by INXS’ classic, Never Tear Us Apart.
