Travis Scott Breaks Taylor Swift Ticket Record

With Travis Scott heading to Australia in a few months’ time, it’s worth noting something absolutely huge: at the end of July, he surpassed Taylor Swift in ticket sales.

According to Hi FM Radio and the Travis Scott Files fan account on Instagram, the rapper pulled a larger audience than Swift in Italy. On 23 July, he performed to 85,000 fans on his Circus Maximus tour in Milan, Italy, selling 200,000 tickets over multiple Italian shows.

Hi FM Radio reports that Taylor Swift played to 160,000 fans over two nights in Italy. Thanks to his show at the Ippodromo Snai La Maura in Milan last month and his massive performance at the Circo Massimo in Rome in August 2023, Scott performed to 200,000 fans in Italy in less than a year.

Due to the noise coming from Scott’s show on 23 July – especially from fans – locals reported feeling the impacts of an earthquake. Travis Scott is the only rapper performing in stadiums globally.

Addressing the massive audience on Instagram, Scott posted a video from the concert and wrote (in all caps), “Last night was a dream. ‘No this isn’t festival. This a show on the tour.’ In the words of Stromberg. Milan y’all owe me nothing. Y’all gave y’all all 80k of y’all had the best time ever. Circus Maximus.”

Earlier this week, Travis Scott added new shows in Melbourne and Sydney after his Circus Maximus Australian tour announcement was met with huge demand.

The Circus Maximus tour comes in support of Travis Scott’s third studio album, UROPIA, which arrived last July as the follow-up to 2018’s ASTROWORLD. It marks the rapper’s first time performing in Australia since 2016 when he headlined the Listen Out festival.
