Here's how things are looking on this week's chart!
Tones & I and John Mayer are set to battle it out for the #1 place on this week's ARIA Albums Chart.
According to mid-week figures, Australia's Tones & I and US artist Mayer are both expected to land in the Top 3 on this week's chart.
Tones & I released her debut album, Welcome To The Madhouse, last week. The long-awaited release from the record-breaking artist, the album was solely written by Tones & I, as well as co-producing and creating the album's cover.
“I carefully selected the songs and what story I wanted to tell,” said Tones & I of the release.
“My EP was released one single at a time. This is the first time I’m actually putting out a body of music, so I wanted to make sure I didn’t skip any steps."
“This album for me is very up and down and reflects forever changing emotions in me," she continued.

"There are songs on the album that where written before Dance Monkey, about not knowing if busking was right for me. There are songs about my good friend T passing away and not wanting to deal with those emotions. The ups and downs of life in lockdown and the mental challenges/struggles. Some songs make me laugh and some make me cry but there is no running theme or vibe to the album. The songs are unique to how I was feeling the day I wrote them. Thank you”
Tones & I has previously spent 21 consecutive weeks at #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart with Dance Monkey, claiming her the record of the longest-running #1 in ARIA Chart history. The track spent a total of 24 weeks in the top spot. Read our full oral history on the success here.
