The Temper Trap Announce 2025 Australian Tour Dates

Aussie veteran indie rockers The Temper Trap will embark on a short national tour along the East Coast this October.

The band will perform three exclusive shows for fans at Brisbane’s The Princess Theatre on Friday, 24 October, Melbourne’s Northcote Theatre on Saturday, 25 October, and Sydney’s Liberty Hall on Sunday, 26 October.

Frontier Members can access pre-sale tickets on Monday, 15 September, at 2 pm AEST – register here to access those tickets – ahead of the general sale on Wednesday, 17 September, at 2 pm AEST. Tickets will be available via the Frontier Touring website.

Today’s announcement lands just a few weeks after The Temper Trap dropped their first new single in nine years, Lucky Dimes.

The track is the first taste of a long-awaited comeback from the group. Bolder and heavier than most of what’s come before, Lucky Dimes still sees The Temper Trap leaning into their famed indie rock sound, albeit with thumping beats and guitar lines that feel as though they’ll burst apart at any moment.

“Good to know that nine years after the last one, we still have something to say,” vocalist and guitarist Dougy Mandagi said. “It’s been an absolute pleasure creating this record, and we can’t wait to share it with you, not to relive the past but to write the next chapter.”

First rising to fame in the late 2000s with their debut single Sweet Disposition, The Temper Trap hit #9 on the Aussie charts with their 2009 debut album Conditions, before 2012’s self-titled effort and 2016’s Thick As Thieves both topped the charts.

Since 2016, it’s been a little quiet. The band have continued playing live, and alongside a raft of remixes and a cover of The Church’s Under The Milky Way in 2023, The Temper Trap have been biding their time when it comes to new gear.

Most recently, they made it onto triple j’s Hottest 100 Of Australian Songs, with Sweet Disposition just missing out on the top ten at #11.
