The Results Are In! Here’s Where Kate Miller-Heidke Placed At Eurovision 2019

Australia’s 2019 Eurovision entry, Kate Miller-Heidke has placed ninth following this morning’s grand final in Tel Aviv.

The Brisbane singer-songwriter scored 285 votes for her performance of Zero Gravity and its accompanying production, while The Netherlands’ Duncan Laurence claimed #1 with 492 votes.

The Netherlands were a favourite going into the grand final, with some predicting Miller-Heidke might make the top three alongside Sweden, but Italy (465 votes) and Russia (369 votes) placed #2 and #3, respectively.

“I’m on such a massive, massive high,” Miller-Heidke said.

“To get top 10 is amazing and far beyond what I expected coming into this. Thank you so much for everybody that voted for me, for everybody that left supportive comments, all my lovely Australian fans.

“It means the world to me and you’ve really lifted my spirits going through this whole crazy circus. It’s been one of the most unforgettable experiences of my life.”

The full semi-final scores were also revealed today, with Miller-Heidke winning the first semi-final with 261 points, followed by Czech Republic (242 points) and Iceland (221 points).

Miller-Heidke has finished in the same place as Australia’s 2017 entry Isaiah Firebrace, with Dani Im still holding onto the country’s highest placing at #2 in 2016, with Guy Sebastian at #5 in 2017, and Jessica Mauboy at #20 last year.
