Last night (13 February), The Prodigy kickstarted their first Australian tour in six years at Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion.
In Australia on their Disrupta tour, the UK dance icons will perform for two more nights – this Sunday, 16 February, at Brisbane’s Riverstage, and Tuesday, 18 February, at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena.
The tour was announced last August, just weeks after the band’s old-school logo started appearing in Sydney and Melbourne.
The Prodigy remain one of the most successful electronic groups of all time, selling an estimated 25 million records worldwide and scoring seven consecutive #1 albums in the UK.
In a live review of the band’s show at Perth’s RAC Arena in January 2019, The Music’s Mark Beresford wrote, “Firmly holding a middle finger to anyone labelling them a nostalgia act, the group proved their explosive energy remains as fierce and fresh as ever.”
Beresford later remarked, “The Prodigy proved why they’re still one of the greatest live acts going around.”
