Lloyd Swanton won't play during the first half of their tour

More The Necks More The Necks

The upcoming national tour from local experimental legends The Necks has undergone some changes, with bassist Lloyd Swanton pulling out of the first six shows of the run due to a family member's injury.

Swanton will not be present at the Byron Bay, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth shows, so fans will be treated to a different vibe at these, with Tony Buck and Chris Abrahams set to play solo sets instead.

Both musicians are seasoned solo performers in their own right - Abrahams has released eight records and performed internationally throughout his career while Buck has enjoyed great touring and live show success overseas, particularly Berlin over the past two decades.

Swanton is expected to rejoin his bandmates for the remaining Necks' dates in Melbourne, Newcastle, Canberra and Sydney. Check out theGuide for details.
