Two icons of the 2000s alternative rock/emo scene are teaming up for an epic 20th anniversary tour across Australia.

The Early November and Hellogoodbye have announced the Australian leg of their 20 Years Young run, with the Drive-Thru Records alums celebrating the 20th anniversary of their respective 2006 albums: the ambitious concept record The Mother, the Mechanic, and the Path and the defining, breakthrough Zombies! Aliens! Vampires! Dinosaurs!.

The Australian shows begin at Melbourne’s 170 Russell on Wednesday, 17 March. They continue at Brisbane’s The Met on Thursday, 18 March, and conclude at Sydney’s Factory Theatre on Friday, 19 March.

Fans can access pre-sale tickets on Tuesday, 15 September, at 10 am local time, followed by the general sale on Thursday, 17 September, at 10 am local time. You can find tickets on the Destroy All Lines website.

With the 20 Years Young tour, both bands return to Australia for the first time in over a decade. The Early November last visited our shores as the main support for Mayday Parade in 2016, while Hellogoodbye performed at Soundwave’s Counter Revolution in 2011.

“Hellogoodbye has been missing Australia quite terribly - but no longer,” the band commented in a statement. “Excited to be triumphantly returning to celebrate our first album, ‘Zombies! Aliens! Vampires! Dinosaurs!’, playing it in full plus favourites from over two decades of hgb!”

The Early November added, “We can’t believe it’s been 10 years since our last tour in Australia! Our first trip down under was in 2013 at Soundwave, followed by a tour with Mayday Parade in 2016.

“We are beyond excited to soak in the beautiful scenics, reconnect with old friends, and celebrate this special album. While we’re at it, we might as well play some TEN favourites, old and new. We are so grateful to be back!”
