The Beta Band Announce First-Ever Australian Tour Dates
21 years since their split, the influential Scottish group will use their debut Australian visit to perform their landmark compilation 'The Three E.P.'s' in full.

It’s news that many fans of experimental Scottish outfit The Beta Band may never thought would happen, but the beloved group have now announced their first-ever Australian tour dates for 2026.
Kicking off in May 2026, The Beta Band will launch their long-awaited Australian trek with a headline date at Sydney’s Enmore Theatre, before heading around the country to The Tivoli in Brisbane, The Gov in Adelaide, The Forum in Melbourne, and wrapping it up with a jaunt out west at Metropolis in Fremantle.
The shows are a continuation of the group’s reunion tour, which launched in September in Glasgow, and has since followed on to sold-out dates in the US and Canada. As frontman Steve Mason explains, it’s “a chance to see one of the greatest British bands of the last 30 years – before they turn us into holograms.”
Having first formed in 1996, The Beta Band wasted no time in writing and creating a batch of genre-diverse songs, issuing their Champion Versions EP the following year.
In 1998, they followed it up with both The Patty Patty Sound and Los Amigos del Beta Banditos – with all three of these formative releases being captured on the fittingly-titled compilation, The Three E.P.'s, that same year.
That compilation became one of the group’s most famous and accessible releases. It was even notably name-checked in the 2000 movie High Fidelity, as John Cusack’s Rob Gordon announces “I will now sell five copies of The Three E.P.'s, by The Beta Band” as their song Dry The Rain plays.

Between 1999 and 2004, the group would release three studio records, and were chosen to support iconic names such as Radiohead and Oasis along the way.
Having split in 2004, the ensuing years were an agonising wait for fans eager to know if they would ever again receive the chance to see one of Scotland’s most revered outfits on the live stage again, with that good news finally arriving in early 2025.
Tickets to The Beta Band's Australian tour are on sale from 9am local time on Tuesday, November 9th, with an early bird pre-sale launching at 9am local time on Friday, November 21st.
