Taylor Swift Hits Back At Kanye Snapchats: 'You Can't Approve A Song You Haven't Heard'

Shit is going down.

More Taylor Swift More Taylor Swift

Just hours after Kim Kardashian leaked footage of a phone call between her husband and rapper Kanye West and Taylor Swift, seemingly proving that the pop singer approved Yeezy to use the now infamous line in his song Famous, "I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex. Why? I made that bitch famous," Swift has hit back at the videos, claiming she never approved the second part of the lyric.

Kardashian made good on claims she owned video footage of Swift approving West's lyrics, months after Swift's publicist slammed the song and insisted she was not contacted about the track.

"Kanye did not call for approval, but to ask Taylor to release his single Famous on her Twitter account," Swift's publicist said at the time.

"[Swift] declined and cautioned him about releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message. Taylor was never made aware of the actual lyric, 'I made that bitch famous'."

While the newly-leaked videos do suggest Swift approved of the first half of the lyrics, the 26-year-old claims she was never told about the second part, nor did she hear the track in full as West allegedly promised.

"Where is the video of Kanye telling me he was going to call me 'that bitch' in his song? It doesn't exist because it never happened," Swift wrote in an Instagram post, with the cheeky caption, "That moment when Kanye West secretly records your phone call, then Kim posts it on the Internet".

"You don't get to control someone's emotional response to being called 'that bitch' in front of the entire world," the post continues.

"He promised to play the song for me, but he never did. While I wanted to be supportive of Kanye on the phone call, you cannot 'approve' a song you haven't heard.

"Being falsely painted as a liar when I was never given the full story or played any part of the song is character assassination."

West was forced to defend himself back in February through a series of tweets, insisting he had contacted Swift about the song, days before she took a dig at the hip hop artist during a Grammys acceptance speech.

"I want to say to all the young women out there — there are going to be people along the way who will to try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame," Swift said.
