The ever-rising level of talent in Perth sees the anticipation surrounding the WA Music Awards increase each year, and the 2015 results name Tame Impala, Tired Lion, Methyl Ethel and Kucka as some of the state’s finest.

With Kevin Parker already claiming Best Male Vocalist at the WA Craft Awards earlier this week, his world-dominating band walks away with four wins out of the six awards they were nominated for, including Best Album, Most Popular Act, Most Popular Live Act and Most Popular Music Video surrounding the release of Currents this year.

Kucka, aka Laura Jane Lowther, was another Craft winner that dominated the WAM Award ceremony tonight at Perth’s Jack Rabbit Slim’s, being crowned Best Electronic Act and Best Experimental Act.

Buzz band Tired Lion (Best Rock Act and Best EP) and Methyl Ethel (Best Pop Act and Best Single) also join the ranks of the aforementioned multi-award winners, and will play the festival’s free Saturday Spectacular Block Party this weekend.
