Kevin Parker is back with a new Tame Impala song, and it’s a banger.
The first official release under the Tame Impala name since 2020’s The Slow Rush, End Of Summer has been teased on social media this week, with Parker advising fans to “clear 7 minutes of your schedule.”
The seven-minute epic pays tribute to various eras of dance music. End Of Summer gradually unfurls itself to reveal Tame Impala as a primal rave act, drawing from acid house music of the ‘90s and Australia’s bush doofs, all leading to a new kind of music from Tame Impala.

End Of Summer also marks the first song to be released on Tame Impala’s new label home of Columbia Records. The music video directed by Julian Klincewicz will premiere at 2 pm AEST on Tame Impala’s YouTube channel – until then, check out the single below.
The musical project of Kevin Parker, who writes, records, performs, and produces all of the project’s music, Tame Impala is one of Australia’s most successful music exports.
As a live act, Parker is joined by Dominic Simper on guitar and synthesiser, Jay Watson on synthesiser, vocals, and guitar, Cam Avery on bass guitar, vocals, and synthesiser, Julien Barbagallo on drums and vocals, and Rafael Lazzaro-Colon on percussion.
Earlier this month, Parker hinted that new Tame Impala music was on the way by captioning a post “been busy.”
The carousel post on Instagram saw Parker in recording studios, performing DJ sets, at festivals, attending dinner dates, and more.
The first shot of the post showed Parker beside his wife, Sophie Lawrence, who is pregnant with their second child. The last photo, however, saw Parker share a recording progress chart. Tame Impala’s next album will seemingly contain 13 songs, which have been marked off as “done.”
In December, Parker will return Down Under and open for Justice on their upcoming Australian tour, where he’s set to perform DJ sets in Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane. Australian fans might get lucky and witness the live debut of End Of Summer at the shows in December.
After last month’s Primavera Sound festival in Barcelona, he premiered a new Tame Impala song during a DJ set.
Recent achievements for Parker include producing Dua Lipa’s latest album, Radical Optimism, and inventing a new synthesiser, while Tame Impala were also credited as guests on Justice’s 2024 tracks One Night/All Night and the Grammy Award-winning Neverender.
