Justice and Tame Impala won one of the early Grammy Awards of 2025 for their collaborative track Neverender, winning the Best Dance/Electronic Recording award. This award marks the first-ever Grammy won by Tame Impala (they’ve been nominated for five awards).
The first Australian win of the night, the French electronic duo and Tame Impala beat Disclosure (She’s Gone, Dance On), Four Tet (Loved) Fred again.. and Baby Keem (Leavemealone), and KAYTRANADA and Childish Gambino (Witchy).
Last year, the same award went to Skrillex, Fred again.. and Flowdan for their track Rumble, which was made with co-producer Four Tet (uncredited at the Grammy Awards). Pitchfork notes that if Fred again.. had won the award again this year, he would have been the first back-to-back winner in the category.
Other early Grammy Awards have gone to Gillian Welch and David Rawlings (Best Folk Album for Woodland), Sabrina Carpenter (Best Pop Solo Performance for Espresso), and Charli XCX (Best Dance/Electronic Music Album for brat, Best Dance Pop Recording for Von Dutch).
While the pre-show Grammy Awards will be handed out for the next few hours, the official show begins at approximately 12 pm AEDT, streamed exclusively on Stan in Australia. You can stream the pre-show on the Grammy website.
On working with Tame Impala, Justice’s Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay said last year, “We wanted this track to sound as if a dark/techno iteration of Justice had found a sample of a disco iteration of Kevin Parker. Kevin has a sense of melody that’s fascinating in the sense that he manages to write melodies that feel both simple and natural but very peculiar at the same time.”
