Tame Impala ProfileAs if you didn’t need more reason to anticipate the long-awaited release of Grand Theft Auto VI, information about the game’s score has finally arrived.
French electronic music duo Justice are behind the game’s original dynamic score. To accompany the news, an epic collaboration track featuring Australian music royalty Tame Impala, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard and American hitmaker SZA, Flower in a Hurricane, just dropped – check it out below.
Flower in a Hurricane comes after earlier previews of Justice’s score for the video game, some of which featured in key moments of Netflix’s Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look and other major game announcements.
Justice’s score for Grand Theft Auto VI has been described as “the biggest, most immersive evolution of the groundbreaking Grand Theft Auto series yet.”
The score for its predecessor, 2013’s Grand Theft Auto V, featured a collaborative effort from the Alchemist, Tangerine Dream, Woody Jackson, and Oh No. The score was mixed and synced by DJ Shadow.
The previous game featured tracks by Flying Lotus, Wavves, HEALTH, A$AP Rocky and many others, and with the upcoming release of Grand Theft Auto VI, the musical diversity continues.
Flower in a Hurricane features on Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, which officially drops on Thursday, 19 November. It’s currently available to pre-order/pre-save here.
The 34-track album is slowly being rolled out; some of the already-released tracks are by Morgan Wallen, Travis Scott, The Rolling Stones’ Keith Richards, and more. Last week, Rockstar Games announced the in-game radio DJs players will hear in the game, which include Bad Bunny, Robyn, and Lana Del Rey.
Justice take on the task of scoring one of the most anticipated video games in history, following the release of their 2024 album, Hyperdrama. The album’s standout track, Neverender, featured Tame Impala and won the French duo the Grammy Award for Best Dance/Electronic Recording last year.
