The vocalist was allegedly charged with possession of methamphetamine
Former Stone Temple Pilots frontman Scott Weiland is reportedly in jail, allegedly having been charged with felony possession of a controlled substance and burglary.
According to US tabloid TMZ, Weiland was originally arrested on suspicion of having stolen "razors and other cosmetic items" from a Beverly Hills pharmacy late last month, but consequently had that charge added to when he was searched by police, who allegedly found him in possession of methamphetamine.
Weiland reportedly then attempted to talk his way out of the arrest via the old, "I'm Scott Weiland from Stone Temple Pilots" line, which apparently had zero impact on preventing him from having spent the past four weeks behind bars with a $95,000 bond hanging over him for good measure.
Weiland was dismissed last year from Stone Temple Pilots, who have since conscripted Linkin Park's Chester Bennington to perform as the imaginatively named "Stone Temple Pilots With Chester Bennington". Weiland's struggles with substance abuse, meanwhile, have been well documented throughout STP's career, dating back to his first such conviction, for buying crack cocaine, in 1995.
