Fake tickets appear before real tickets go on sale

Dance festival Stereosonic has issued a warning to punters over fake tickets which have appeared on online auction and trading post websites – before tickets have even gone on sale.

The festival, arguably Australia's biggest touring music event, has expanded to two-days around the country for 2013 and landed David Guetta, Armin Van Buuren and Calvin Harris as headliners. As a result, tickets are expected to be in high demand, even with two days.

Today the promoters said, “Stereosonic would like to warn patrons about buying tickets via Gumtree and Ebay related websites. There are a number of fake tickets available already on Gumtree.”

They pushed people to Ticketmaster and other registered industry sellers.
