Sydney-based “offensively average” pop-punk band SoSo are releasing their debut album in October, and they’re asking for help to top the ARIA Charts. Not just the Australian Albums Chart, but across the board.

“We’re gonna try and do something pretty outrageous,” the band explained in a video posted to their website. “We’re going for a number one album across the board, not just in the Australian artist category. We think we’ve got a really good shot here of trying to have an ARIA number one.”

To boost their album sales and communication with fans, SoSo are offering some pretty neat deals for fans who pre-order their forthcoming debut album, So Much For Second Chances.

Fans who pre-order the album won’t just receive the already-released singles; they’ll also receive an unreleased track before anyone else hears it. Plus, fans who pre-order the album on vinyl and CD will access great discounts.

For a limited time, fans can pre-order a signed CD copy of the album for 67% off, cutting the price down to $9.99. If you’re pre-ordering the vinyl, you can score the album for 28% off – that’s $39.95. If that wasn’t enough, the band are also offering free shipping.

“We’re an independent band, so we’ve only got a shot at this thanks to fans like you guys who support us so much,” the band continued in their video. You can pre-order the album here.

The band states that despite their achievements, including having dedicated fans, self-releasing two EPs, supporting Yours Truly on the road, over 7.5 million streams on Spotify, and playing on TV series such as Home And Away, they get ignored by the Australian music industry.

SoSo say they’ve been “overlooked for support slots, ignored by radio,” and “shut out of every major festival.”

They added, “No matter how hard we hustle, the industry pretends we don’t exist. We’re used to it. No complaints – we’re the underdogs. If it’s gonna happen for us, it’s because we make it happen. Because YOU support us, even when they won’t.”

It’s a sentiment the band explored on their single Candy Mouth. Singer Rhys de Burgh explained, “Lyrically, it’s about that kinda ‘unknown’ of the music industry - trying to convince yourself that you’re doing something worthwhile that resonates with fans, all the while being overlooked by the industry.

“Watching a ton of other acts get leg-ups thanks to ‘knowing the right person’ can be a real kick in the teeth, having ‘friends’ in the scene suddenly drop all contact once you’re no longer useful and all that typical music industry stuff.

“So, in the end, ‘Candy Mouth’ came to be this song kinda calling out and having a laugh at those people who’ve used their ‘Candy Mouth’ to climb the ladder of success, whilst dealing with some of the fun and frustration of trying to ‘make it’ whilst being overlooked.”
