After making waves as a special correspondent for NBC’s coverage of the 2024 Olympics, Snoop Dogg will return for the 2026 Winter Games.

In addition to his career as a rap star, Snoop Dogg is a massive sports fan (including AFL) and shows support for youth programs, including the Snoop Youth Football League.

Snoop’s return to the NBC commentary team was confirmed on Sunday (28 September) via a post on YouTube and social media. “Guess who’s back?” He asked in a short and sweet video dressed in Team USA red.

The Associated Press reports that Snoop will share coverage alongside NBC host Mike Tirico, outlining what he sees during the Winter event in Italy. He’s set to attend events “and cheer alongside the athletes, their friends, and families.”

The Winter Olympics begin on Friday, 6 February, and will run until Sunday, 22 February, taking place in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy. And with the 2028 Olympic Games confirmed to happen in Los Angeles, we think it’ll be safe to see the California native offering coverage for three Olympic events in a row.

In a statement, Snoop Dogg said of his return to NBC’s Olympic Games coverage, “I am excited to be back with my main man Mike Tirico for the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan Cortina.

“The D-O-double-G will be on the scene, and I am looking forward to celebrating with the athletes and their families. The Olympics is the biggest stage in the world and, as everyone knows, I’m all about sports, bringing people together, and unifying while bringing the fun.”

Molly Solomon, NBC Olympics’ Executive Producer, commented that Snoop “amplified the joy” of the 2024 Summer Olympics and “connected with viewers in a way we’ve never seen before.”

Upon the news that he’d be a correspondent (and torch bearer) for the 2024 Olympic Games, Snoop himself affirmed that he hadn’t taken the job for an extra drop of fame (or money), noting he “grew up watching the Olympics” and was “thrilled to see the incredible athletes bring their A-game to Paris” for “a celebration of skill, dedication, and the pursuit of greatness.”

He added, “We’re going to have some amazing competitions, and, of course, I will be bringing that Snoop style to the mix. It’s going to be the most epic Olympics ever, so stay tuned and keep it locked. Let’s elevate, celebrate, and make these games unforgettable, smoke the competition, and may the best shine like gold. Peace and Olympic LOVE, ya dig?”
